I'm Freaking Out!!

J said the women at work told him we will have to do a written test, and possibly a driving test to get our Illinois driver's license. I didn't believe him. So, I checked my handy dandy 'Newcomers Guide to Chicago'. He's right. They are right. Written test. In some instances, driving test.

Do you know how long it has been since I've done a driving test?? 22 years, 5 months, 5 days, 7 hours, 30 minutes. I know. I did the test on my 16th birthday and I just found my diary from 1985. And I quote: "Daddy dropped me off at the license office to get my beginner's. I got it!! I hadn't studied much but, I prayed a lot!"

You seeeeeeeeeeeeee....I didn't study 22 years ago, and now I have to pass a driver's test? I'm freaking out. What if I don't pass? That would make me an idiot. I didn't know what all the signs mean, I just guessed the first time. I only got 2 wrong that time. Oh man.

And what if they want me to do an in-car test? Parrallel park in Chicago??!! I just barely passed the driver's test when I was almost 17. My family wouldn't let me have the car to practice. The night before the test, I went out with my sister for 2 hours. I've driven in Toronto traffic, surely I can do this. I can do this. I can do this. I CAN do this.

Oh God, please help me pass these tests. Maybe I should read the book this time.
