T-Town to Chi-Town - Day 6

Our condo building, street view.

This morning, Park Community Church (Park) had neighborhood Ladies Breakfast Meetings. Chicago is broken into neighborhoods. You might live in Lincoln Park, Logan Square, Ukrainian Village, Pilsen, South Loop, etc. The purpose of the breakfast meetings is for you to meet the ladies in your neighborhood who attend Park. Park is about the city and about the community, so this was perfect.

I attended the meeting for the ladies in Chicka’s neighborhood. Songbird, the wife of J’s boss, was there. We haven’t seen each other in 2 weeks, so it was nice to see Songbird again. I was fortunate enough to meet 4 other ladies from Park, who are fabulous. We had a great time. So great, we were talking well past the suggested end time!

J went in to work today. Today was a work day for the church volunteers to help get the new church building ready. They were pulling media cables, so it was really important for J to be there. J came home pumped about the people he had met and the work that had been accomplished. Jaxn, the pastor, had come by to greet the volunteers. He helped people whenever he saw they needed another hand.

When J got home, we went for a walk. The weather was so beautiful. So many people were sitting at street cafes, and walking their dogs, and out with their children. Everywhere we went, people were out enjoying the day. We love living in the city!!
