Weekend with Family

On Saturday, Paris got to meet her birth father, in person, for the very first time. James is in prison and visiting for us hasn't been setup yet. So, Grandma Christine, James' Mom, took Paris to Cushing, to meet him. Christine was able to get a picture of James and Paris hugging. We can hardly wait to get our copy. When we do, I'll post it.

Today, Sunday, we had a small birthday party for Jazz and Paris. Paris turned 2 on March 20th, and Jazz turned 5, today. We combined Easter lunch with Jason's family and the kids' birthday party. Jon and Cindy and Jon Michael were there, as always. And this year, we had Paris' Grandpa JD and Grandma Judy, her Uncle Kyle, and his girlfriend, Jenny.

Jason's Grandma Barbara has pneumonia in her right lung, so her and Grandpa Lester were not able to attend. We took the kids over there afterwards so they could visit. On the way home, we stopped in at Jazz' birth mom's house, but she wasn't home.

Friday night, we went to Church on the Move, and this morning, we went to Destiny. It was great seeing so many people who had previously attended Grace Church. We were able to tell them our good news and to say our goodbyes. I'm amazed at how many people travel to Chicago. We'll be having dinner with our Tulsa connections at least once a week!

It will be hard moving to a new city where we really don't know anyone. But, I think back to almost 9 years ago, when I moved to Tulsa, from Canada. I only knew Jason's family. By getting involved in church and going out to work, I was able to meet all of the incredible, wonderful people we are now saying good bye to. So, I know that, in a few months, we will have made relationships that will last us a lifetime.
