Mother's Day Frederick Style

The Moms on our day!

Today, the plan was to meet up at Black Forest Inn - our family's favorite restaurant. Things went as planned. Only they don't take reservations. So, after waiting for a full hour for a table for 7, and my kids acting like ragamuffins (no offense, Carlos), my wise, older brothers decided to get out of dodge, because there was still a roomful of people who were there before us.

So, off we trekked, in the rain. A block down the street, one of my brothers said, "Is Forbidden City open?" To which the other replied that he did not know. To which I said: "You don't know if the Chinese restaurant is open? You made us leave the German restaurant and you didn't check first??" To which, they both laughed.

At about that point, one of the boys noticed a West Indian food restaurant across the street. We were all game. It worked out perfectly - a West Indian family, eating West Indian food on Mother's Day. The only thing that could have made it more perfect, was if our sister, Optimus Prime (#1 sister), were able to attend. But, she is off in Slovakia, on a mission.
