Canadian Geese - Happy Canada Day to me!!
J's brother and sister-in-law will be here Friday and it's the 4th of July, so we did our Family Friday activity this evening, by going to the beach.
It was a comedy of errors. We drove down lakeshore and got caught up in the 'Taste of Chicago' traffic. Yikes! Finally, we made it to the beach parking lot. Parking is free, but the lot was almost completely full!!
We got to the beach, and it was closed to swimming!!
The e-coli bacteria levels were too high.
The hippie lifeguard on duty asked a couple in love, if he could have some of their wine!!!!! I kid you not. His exact words were: "They call me seagull because I'm always begging." Then he sticks out his McD's cup and the guy pours wine in there. How wrong. How rude.
Well, at least we could get food from the concession stand, right? Wrong!! J got the last 3 pieces of pizza. There were 4 of us! And, he got the last 2 bags of chips. Keep in mind, there are 4 of us.
In spite of the comedy of errors, we had a good time. The kids had a good time. And that is all that counts!
